* Editor's Commentaries - #2  Operation "Enduring Freedom"?!

What's the Question?  Stay 'tuned,' for the editor's answer.

.  "It's War!"  "We Are At War!"  So declared the 'commander-in-chief' immediately following the coordinated terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Why War?  Well, to initiate Marshall Law by any name, a crisis of the proportions of war is necessary for 'legitimate' justification; to reinvent the USA into a Police State requires a crisis of war-like proportions to serve as the catalyst 'requiring' such changes; to improve the economy via War expenditures requires "War"; and to move dramatically closer to a one-world government encompassing and enslaving the whole world requires a "War," and not any garden-variety war, but a "War" with the global reach and involvement of this New Brand of "War," a "War Against Terror!"  So, off to 'War' we go with Freedom-ending "Operation Enduring Freedom."  "The First War of the Twenty-First Century!"

.  Sunday, October 07, 2001 - After laboring for four weeks to create a world-wide united front coalition to 'wage a war' against Terrah!, i.e. Terror, after laboring for four weeks to wage and win a public relations war, and after four weeks of planning and mobilizing for "War," the United States launched an air offensive targeted at the Taliban rulers of Afghanistan and Osama/Usama Bin/bin Laden's Al-Qaida/Al-Qaeda Islamic terrorist network.

{The most challenging thing about writing regarding Islam, Islamists, Islamic factions, Islamic regimes, and Islamic terrorist actions, is the asymmetry of spellings used.}

.  The US Government directly and indirectly (i.e., via the major media elites), communicated that the air offensive, i.e. the campaign of bombing the Taliban's 'pathetic' military into oblivion would last only a very few days, approximately three.

During the first day and days, US government military experts and spokesmen, expert analysts in the employ of the media, correspondents covering the US "war effort," and media pundits opined that the 'illegitimate' Taliban 'government' did not even have a military, i.e. "they did not have an army, they did not have a navy, they did not have an airforce, and they did not have a defense against air attack...."

But despite the Taliban's absence of a military, and lack of anything worthy to considered a defense against air attack, or a threat to bombardment from the air (unlike Sadam Hussein's Iraq), the bold brave US Operation Enduring Freedom engaged in bombing runs only from long-distance, and high altitude, and exclusively at night; curious don't you think?  Oh well, the 'experts' know best; though "collateral damage" was certain to be more extensive with such blind missions (but that's "War" you know!).

The experts and commentators repeatedly commented dryly, and even snidely complained, that after only one day of the bombing campaign, the USA was already running out of targets worth bombing!!!  This pitiful refrain was repeated for a couple more days, before the USA's vaunted military miraculously 'discovered' more targets (including accidental targets, e.g. a Red Cross food warehouse that has been bombed three times).

.  The glorious bombing war has gone on for three weeks now; more than 300 Million pounds of bombs have been dropped on the dirt and people of Afghanistan...and the vaunted US Military is well on its way to exhausting its military stockpile of conventional munitions (as it did during the few weeks of the Desert Storm/Desert Shield War), and all this without noticeably weakening the pathetically weak Taliban, much less even recognizing the real dangers to American National Security, which are conveniently numbered among our 'allies' included within our worldwide coalition against Terror!

Condoleeza "Condee" Rice is no doubt a sharp gal, and Colin Powell isn't dull, "Hell, Life is Hard," Donald Rumsfeld and Camp David Dick Cheney are reputedly extremely capable...but even if none of these top officials of the Bush Administration are bad/evil, they are at least blind and ignorant, and several of them suffer from supreme self-confidence and fatal arrogance.

.  Commander-In-Chief George Armstrong Custer Bush continues to up the ante, and boldly, bravely 'lead' the USA's military to its destruction, but not until "war" has been waged from afar, from long-distance and high altitude bombing, and at night, until there are no more bombs to drop.  The US will not be directly destroyed at the hands of the Taliban or Al-Qaida/Al-Qaeda, those are just "the least of the flock" who are drawing the USA into the Battle of Little Bighorn II, to fall in the wasteland of Afghanistan and the assorted surrounding wastelands at the hands of the US's most favored nation 'allies'/mortal enemies, who have been armed, enabled, empowered, and enriched by the previous presidential administration, if the assorted enemies opt at this time to boldly carry out their intentions (hopefully they will not).

  Occasionally I think while standing up, walking, or even chewing gum, though I can't say I necessarily do my best thinking while exerting myself in these ways - Editor/Ed.

Boys are so silly, I prefer to do my deep thinking, reflection, ruminating, and meditation, while I am reclining at length in the tub, preferably with several servants to attend to my every whim and need.  [One must be careful to only think in moderation while soaking, though, lest one should turn into a prune!]  Umm, I wonder if those silly hunky stone-age boys are thinking about me?

You know, that's what I like about President George W. (War?) Bush, White House Chief of Staff Andrew "Andy" ('what a card') Card assured me that 'President Bush is doing magnificently, holding up beautifully, eating well, exercising every day, taking very, very good care of himself....  Andy also mentioned that he is so fortunate to work for such an extremely intelligent man as the President...and that America is so fortunate to have a man like George W. Bush at the helm, handling this crisis...."

Al's secret to his superior thinking - sitting down.

 Ah yes, now I see the resemblance between Albert Einstein and CBM's Editor, they are both hunks (almost as if chiseled out of stone) and undeniably dreamers.

{No, bathing beauty.  If I had a lady like you to think about (but a little less "hard-bodied"), I wouldn't manage to think of anything else.  It is true, God does work in mysterious ways.}

......
