What Is Truth? - What Hath The LORD Answered Thee, What Hath The LORD Spoken Unto Thee?

"Pilate therefore said unto Him, Art thou a king then?  JESUS answered, Thou sayest that I am a king, To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth.  Every one that is of the truth heareth My Voice. [!]  Pilate saith unto Him, What is truth?" John 18:37,38

Holy Monopoly

Yes, the 'truth' can finally be told; at least the hidden agenda has finally surfaced and in plenty of time for the last chapter of human history.

As of September 05, 2000, the Vatican has unveiled its theological truth on Salvation, and surprise of surprises, are you ready, are you sitting down?

Salvation is only for Roman Catholics; well of course, after all the Roman Catholic hierarchy has got it right on so many other fundamentals of the faith, that it only stands to reason the Institutional Roman Catholic Church should be the repository of salvation as well, right?

OK, so this is not an original doctrine, is it?  It's been kicking around for a long long time.  But it is interesting nonetheless, seeing as papa has been so zealously given to bringing together and meeting with all manner of 'spiritual' leaders from around the world to seek 'PEACE' and other such goals, by "praying" together to every demon out of hell.

It is ironic to say the least.

And interestingly in the official pronouncement from Rome there were even a few grains of truth, scattered among a heavy weight of very damning chaff.  But before being more specific in criticisms of the new Doctrinal Declaration from the Vatican, let's take a brief look at the gist of the document or dictum.  [I am leaving out virtually all of the article's portions which refer to wonderment and criticism of the new dictums' anti-ecumenical effect.]

According to the article by R. Jeffrey Smith of the Post's Foreign Service, with special correspondent Sarah Delaney contributing, entitled Vatican Claims Church Monopoly on Salvation - Move Confounds Backers Of Ecumenical Dialogue, written on Sept. 5, and printed in the Washington Post Sept. 6, 2000.

ROME, Sept. 5 -- "A new Vatican dictum issued today declares that individuals can attain full salvation from earthly sin only through the spiritual grace of the Catholic Church and that other faiths - including Protestant Christian ones - have defects that place their followers in a "gravely deficient situation" in seeking salvation.'

"The document was "Issued after two years of study and timed to coincide with the millennial celebration of Jesus's birth, the document effectively delineates the boundaries of the Vatican's forbearance of other faiths.'

"The Vatican document asserts that "equality ... refers to the equal personal dignity of the parties in dialogue, not the doctrinal content" underling their religions.  Without citing particular alternative religions, it describes others as inherently inferior, because they depend on "superstitions or other errors that constitute an obstacle to salvation.'

"It also reminds Catholics that their duty is to evangelize adherents of other faiths during any dialogue, an idea that has rankled Orthodox Christian leaders, among others, who have long accused the Vatican of trying to convert their followers.'

"The document appears to differentiate non-Catholic Christian churches from other religions.  The non-Catholic churches "suffer from defects," it says, but they "have by no means been deprived of significance and importance in the mystery of salvation.'

"The document was presented at a news conference by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the principal Vatican body charged with defining and upholding theological tradition.  Its release comes in the midst of uncertainty about the longevity of John Paul II, who suffers from the effects of a Parkinson's-like disease, and a growing clash of views within the Church over its future direction.'

[Given the eminence of his position in the Vatican's power hierarchy and his headship over this sweeping new declaration of Official Church Doctrine, perhaps Cardinal Ratzinger will figure as a principal candidate to succeed John Paul II as papa?]

"John Paul has notably embraced a handful of dicta dating from the famed Second Vatican Council [or Vatican II] meetings of the mid-1960's, which called for religious liberty and explicitly supported ecumenism, or religious cooperation and unity.  During a visit to the Middle East last March, he also called for "more mature understanding and ever more practical cooperation" among Christians, Jews and Muslims.'

"But today's declaration is concerned more with establishing limits than breaking barriers, and its tone at times seems closer to the inhibiting orders of the First Vatican Council, in 1870, which was convened just as the Church's political control over a sizable chunk of Italy was slipping away.  Then, the council lent its support to a "Syllabus of Errors," which explicitly challenged any notion that other religions were as "true" as Catholicism.'

"The 36-page dictum, issued under the title of "Declaration The Lord Jesus on the Unicity and Salvific Universality of Jesus Christ and the Church," contains another list of doctrinal errors that Vatican officials say threaten the Church's "constant missionary proclamation" and must be shunned by modern adherents.'

"None of those who are alleged to have advocated these errors were identified in the document or at the news conference.  But the list includes any conviction that divine truth is elusive; that a different truth can exist for some cultures, particularly those in Asia; that the last judgment of God does not loom; and that reason can be the only source of knowledge.'

"True tolerance ... is being manipulated and surpassed today" by theologians who advance such ideas while propagating "the erroneous idea that the religions of the world are complementary to the Christian revelation," Ratzinger warned.'

Now a few words concerning the error, the heresy, and the damnable heresy of the Vatican's dictum on Salvation.

* I will add the actual document and an expanded refutation at a later date, as precious time allows.

The Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith under the direct oversight of  Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger spent two years crafting this truly evil instrument, intended to undermine and destroy the faith of vast multitudes of people, and to prevent vast multitudes more from inheriting salvation through Jesus Christ; that dear ones is evil, and anti-God, and anti-Christ.

This new document of the Vatican's is an ever so carefully premeditated, and cunningly crafted instrument, whose sole purpose is to destroy souls whom Christ Jesus came to save.  But if you were not previously aware of this, let me share with you that Satan, the father of lies, who came only to steal, to murder, and to destroy, typically will mix a few grains of truth and scripture into his most powerfully destructive lies, so he has done here.

The dictum states:

"Full salvation from earthly sin is only through the spiritual grace of the [Roman] Catholic Church," vs. there is only one name given under heaven by which we may be saved, Jesus Christ.  Salvation from sin is through a man, not an institution; additionally, spiritual grace is from God, not from an institution, indeed grace came from Jesus Christ.

"Other faiths - including Protestant Christian ones - have defects that place their followers in a "gravely deficient situation" in seeking salvation."  Whereas it is absolutely true that the Protestant Christian ranks of denominations and Churches [at least in the United States of America] are rife with 'defects,' errors, sins; it is quite another thing to declare that protestant Christianity is defective compared to Roman Catholicism, which is replete with pervasive defects, inexcusable errors, man-created doctrines which militate against the Word of God, and damnable heresies like that communicated and instituted by this latest dictum from Rome.

As for others being "inherently inferior [to Roman Catholicism], because they depend on "superstitions or other errors that constitute an obstacle to salvation.'  While paganism, animism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, ... and the collective body of other world religions are replete with superstition, Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodox Catholicism are wedded to superstition and major propagators of superstition in the place of Biblical faith, in addition to Catholicism's pervasive, dominant, fundamental errors.

As for "Catholics [being reminded] that their duty is to evangelize adherents of other faiths during any dialogue," this is true, absolutely true, but for believers not for Romanists; typically Christians have been intimidated and persuaded into concealing their faith, rather than reproducing it.

As for 'doctrinal errors that Vatican officials say threaten the Church's "constant missionary proclamation" and must be shunned by modern adherents.'  Yes, a thousand times yes, doctrinal errors are rampant in the Christian Church which inhibit and prevent Jesus Christ's constant missionary proclamation from going forth.

As for "any conviction that divine truth is elusive," the truth is that much of God's Word is open and revealed, it is plain what He requires for salvation for instance!  Nonetheless, some areas, having to do with the hereafter are frankly quite mysterious indeed.

As for the notion and doctrine "that a different truth can exist for some cultures, particularly those in Asia," the truth is all peoples are subject to the same Biblical realities, no matter what their particular circumstances; e.g. Christ Jesus came to save as many as would receive him as their Saviour and Lord.

As for the teaching "that the last judgment of God does not loom," this error is pervasive in the Christian Church, in the Catholic Church, in the world....

As for the dispute "that reason can be the only source of knowledge," simply put, God is the source of knowledge, man is not, and the Roman Catholic church is not, but God can be known from His Holy Word thanks to the Holy Ghost, He is not known by superstitious man-made rituals and idolatries.

And as for the claim that "True tolerance ... is being manipulated and surpassed today" by theologians who advance such ideas while propagating "the erroneous idea that the religions of the world are complementary to the Christian revelation," which Ratzinger warned,' I agree, i.e. tolerance of evil is antithetical to true Christianity, and diametrically opposed to God.

In summation: faith is from God, their is no salvation without faith in God, their is no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood, their is no salvation without a Saviour, Jesus Christ is the only name given under heaven by which we may be saved, his sinless blood was shed on Calvary for the sins of the World, salvation is through faith in Christ alone, Not through a sin-laden institution such as the Roman Catholic church, which to this day persists in deliberately misrepresenting the truth of God, and thus preventing vast multitudes from entering eternal life.  There will be a frightful price to pay for those who are guilty of sinning so against God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.
